Abstract
Over the last few years, the use of solar photovoltaic system has been increased widely. Many studies were focusing in increasing the efficiency of solar photovoltaic (PV) plant and decreasing the cost of it. The trepidation of high penetration of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems impacts, leads governments to conduct clean energy programs to avoid the unfavorable impact of it. Power quality of the power system is considered one of the major issues that need to be addressed. In tacky systems, power quality may cause disturbance and economical losses. This paper presents a time domain model with several case studies of utility scale photovoltaic (PV) plant ratings, which they are 0.25 MW, 0.5 MW, 0.75 MW, 1 MW, 2 MW and 3 MW. The purpose of the study is to show the impact of harmonic distortion with the size variation of photovoltaics plants by analyze the nominal current and voltage output from the inverter at Stander Test Condition (STC) were performed then compared with IEEE Standard under the effect of varying irradiation and temperature conditions.
