Abstract
This article discusses the investigation of heat transfer in a porous annulus. The porous medium is assumed to be placed between the inner radius r(i) and outer radius r(o) of vertical annulus. The boundary conditions are maintained in such a way that the outer surface of annulus is heated to hot isothermal temperature T-h and inner radius is maintained at cool temperature T-c. The momentum and energy equations are solved iteratively to get the solution variables. The results are discussed with respect to aspect ratio which is the ratio of height to width of porous medium fixed in annulus. The aspect ratio is found to affect the heat transfer behavior substantially.
