Abstract
Single crystals of Ba-3[BP3O12] was synthesised before by our group with the solid state reactions of BaCO3, H3BO3, and (NH4)(2)HPO4 at 1300degrees C using excess amount of (NH4)(2)HPO4 as a flux.In this work Sr-3[BP3O12] was prepared in the powder form by the solid-state reactions of SrCO3, B2O3, and P2O5 at 1000degrees C. The x-ray powder diffraction data was indexed in the orthorhombic system with the unit cell parameters of a = 22.25 (4), b = 14.32 (2), c = 7.11(2) A with the space group Ibca (No.73) and Z = 8 which are in close aggrement with the single crystal data of Ba-3[BP3O12]. The x-ray powder diffraction and IR data was reported the first time in this work for this new compound.
