Abstract
In this paper, we deal with identification of a real irrigation system based on nonlinear black-box modeling.
Studies where done, on this type of systems, based on linear models but no satisfactory results were obtained. In fact, open channel systems are nonlinear, which dynamics are based on the Saint-Venant equations, and having nonlinear components structures, the reason why linear model are not well adapted.
Concerning nonlinear black-box modeling, the problem is that it deals with a large number of parameters and it has expensive calculation costs.
