Abstract
Obesity is an escalating health problem in many countries. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) ranks third in the world in obesity rates, according to the Saudi Health Ministry's (SHM) latest reports with up to 60% of the total population classified as obese. This study is consistent with the vision of the SHM 2030 and its 2020 transformational program, which includes the creation of a health system that contributes to the promotion of both individual and societal health through incorporating and activating the role of Information Technology (IT) and digital transformation in its health system. The study adopted a quantitative research approach to obtain the most accurate and generalizable results. Study data were collected from 417 participants from all regions of the KSA. Most participants agreed that obtaining free rewards from Mobile Network Operators (MNO) encourages them to practice healthy walking and to put healthy walking among their health priorities.
