Abstract
In this paper, we consider the problem of optimizing the capacity of the routing and switching nodes in three-layer IP/MPLS over OTN over DWDM networks. As a capacity design problem, we present an optimization model for the node capacity of multilayer network to minimize the overall network cost. The proposed model defines various sizes for capacity modules of IP/MPLS link at routing nodes to study its impact on the network. The results show that using varying sizes of IP/MPLS capacity modules leads to the minimum required capacity and total network cost of nodes at different layers compared to fixed-size modules.
