Abstract
Car accidents are a common event in all modernized society. However, as vehicles become more autonomous, car accidents will slowly begin to decrease. Even with the decrease in accidents, mistakes will still be made that cause damage to both property and persons. In an effort to reduce the damage caused by these mistakes, the system described in this paper uses sensors to measure features such as height and weight in order to distinguish between adult and small child. Once the system has made the distinction, it will inform the driver of potentially dangerous travel accommodations and recommend the proper safety seat or harness. This paper describes the process of designing, constructing, and testing the prototype of the system.
