Abstract
Due to the vast improvement in the field of information technology in Saudi Arabia, E-government implementation at universities is becoming an essential step toward the development of Saudi universities. Accordingly, this area has a shortage of research in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which raised the need to discuss and explore the potential success factors of implementing E-government in Saudi universities. This paper discusses some basic knowledge of E-government which includes: E-government definitions, E-government types, E-Government history in Saudi Arabia and factors affecting the implementation of E-government at universities in Saudi Arabia. Then, it proposes a conceptual model for the critical success factors which have a considerable impact on the process of implementing E-government in Saudi universities. This model suggests using innovation spread qualities to improve e-government implementation, acceptance and usability at universities in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
