Abstract
To overcome the limitations of host centric internet, data centric approach is proposed to drastically change the current internet application where desired data object has the unique address rather than the host itself. Some of the major advantages are protection of privacy, effective data processing and improvement in the efficiency of the internet. The present paper analyses the advantages of the data centric approach and a detailed implementation process is discussed. It is found that this approach has two methods CCN (Content Centric Networking) and NDN (Named Data Networking), both methods are analyzed and compared for their similarities and differences to identify the most feasible application compatible to the information centric networking. A hypothetical scenario is taken to explain the implementation process and the outcome. NDN method was used and recommended for the case study because it does not require exact naming to send data and to resolves the routing challenges faced during the implementation process.
