Abstract
Conference Title: 2018 1st International Conference on Computer Applications & Information Security (ICCAIS) Conference Start Date: 2018, April 4 Conference End Date: 2018, April 6 Conference Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia This paper investigates some critical success factors that encourage workplaces to adopt software-defined networking (SDN). When the network's infrastructure guarantees a reasonable level of simplicity, reliability, mobility, security, agility, visibility, scalability, performance, and power efficiency, the shift toward SDN will be desirable. Other factors that can contribute to satisfying workplace needs are programmability, abstraction, and orchestration. These factors will make the network more viable and efficient to utilize network resources. However, not all these factors were completely brought to the network because of the use of SDN technology, and thus some of them need to be maintained. In this paper, we will present 12 factors and show how each one can contribute to improving a network's behavior according to different studies.
