Abstract
Transients instability due to the large disturbances and generator outages during low and high power transfer has become more concern in the inter-tie power systems. Power system inter-tie is a link between the two or more regional and countries level transmission lines interconnection. This paper well provides on detailed analysis of new-planned 380 kv West-East transmission line inter-tie networks performance under steady and transient states. The proposed West-East region intertie connect the Tabuk-Al-Qurayyat-Tabarjal-Jouf-hail. This network was modeled and simulated all parameters of proposed inter-tie system is presented. Modelling and Simulations under various scenarios carried out and results were provided, then the analysis were outlined. Addition of capacitor bank to the inter-tie network indicated many improvements for reactive power and allowing more active power transmission. Series compensation enhanced the transient stability limits of all the buses more than static capacitor banks and added more VAR to the system and improved voltage profiles.
