Abstract
Conference Title: 2017 Nineteenth International Middle East Power Systems Conference (MEPCON) Conference Start Date: 2017, Dec. 19 Conference End Date: 2017, Dec. 21 Conference Location: Cairo, Egypt Short circuit between two different voltage transmission lines may be occurred when two overhead circuits of different voltages intersect on the same poles. This may cause failure to the utility equipments on the lower voltage circuits due to the resulting over voltage. In Egyptian electric network, this is happened many times. Therefore, this paper investigates this special short circuit. The event is analysed via a real power system in Egypt. The study is carried out using PSCAD/EMTDC.
