Abstract
Nowadays, markets are saturated and new products are being released constantly. Moreover, the major evolution in technology has introduced a whole new aspect in regards to business and merchandising. Thus, brands and salesmen have become much more connected to their customers. However, this has led to an increasing rivalry between companies to combat customer churn. So, companies and project managers realized the need for utilizing customers historical information to develop the marketing strategies of their product. In this paper, we present how important data mining applications are in product marketing. Additionally, we explained the improvement data mining techniques have accomplished in product development for diverse fields. Also, we demonstrated different data mining techniques and how successfully they were applied in different fields such as banking, social media and retails. Whereas, data mining has assisted the marketing field in identifying and classifying customers, identifying the products that need to be promoted, and selecting the best marketing strategy for different kinds of products. Thus, applying these techniques is advisable for the improvement of product marketing.
