This paper presents the application of the mixed-sensitivity H-infinity controller technique to the lateral linearized model of a Boeing 747 aircraft which is a large wide-body transport jet. The main lateral motion that we concern about is the yawing motion which is at such commercial-aircraft cruising speeds and altitudes is difficult to control.
