Class-AB squaring circuits based on classical mixed four-transistor translinear cell are found to have large sensitivity with respect to the mismatches of the transistors involved in the translinear loop. In order to reduce this sensitivity, we propose the use of differentially driven mixed translinear cells. Using this cell, a voltage squaring circuit with reduced sensitivity to element mismatches is obtained. Simulation results show that the output signals of the proposed circuit exhibit very low distortion.
