Abstract
In this manuscript, we have successfully synthesized Au-TiO2 nanocomposite by simple sol-gel technique. The morphology and composition are examined by using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), elemental mapping and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) technique. Electrochemical I-V characteristics of two samples (bare TiO2 and Au-TiO2) under the light illumination have been performed. We observe the enhancement of current density due to interfacial charge transfer between Au and TiO2 nanoparticles in Au-TiO2 system. H2O2 sensing study and photoelectrochemical performance has also been performed by (CV) and current vs. time (I-t) plot with light on/off cycles respectively. We can use this Au-TiO2 nanocomposite sample as H2O2 sensor and photodetector.
