Abstract
Conference Title: 2018 Progress in Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS-Toyama) Conference Start Date: 2018, Aug. 1 Conference End Date: 2018, Aug. 4 Conference Location: Toyama, Japan This paper presents a design of nose-cone conformal substrate integrated waveguide slot antenna array for radar applications. To increase the target tracking azimuth coverage, a novel two beam antenna system is presented with two conformal slot arrays of 1 ⨯ 6 elements. A novel feeding structure is introduced with the rectangular waveguide based power divider. The longitudinal slot elements of both arrays are projected on nose-cone in a mutual alternate fashion. The proposed arrays are simulated in Ansys HFSS, and it is observed that they are resonating at 10 GHz with VSWR ≤ 2. It is also observed that the proposed array offer reduced side lobe levels (SLLs)having values −20.3 dB and −16.45 dB, respectively, with main beams positions at θ = ±90°.
