Abstract
In this paper, we study the performance of a dual-hop radio frequency-underwater wireless optical communication (RF-UWOC) systems. The whole system consists of one single-antenna source node communicating with one destination node equipped with a single aperture through relaying. The relay is equipped with a single antenna and a single telescope to forward the received signal to the destination. The RF and UWOC links experience Rayleigh fading and the mixture Exponential-Generalized Gamma fading, respectively. We derive closed-form expressions for the outage probability and average bit error rate for both amplify-and-forward and decode-and-forward schemes with different detection techniques. By utilizing the expansion of Meijer's G-function and Fox's H-function, analytical formulas present an efficient tool to depict the characteristics on the performance.
