Abstract
Conference Title: 2018 North American Power Symposium (NAPS) Conference Start Date: 2018, Sept. 9 Conference End Date: 2018, Sept. 11 Conference Location: Fargo, ND, USA This paper investigates holonic distribution grids and proposes an optimal scheduling model for integrated microgrids for such a grid. The objective of the proposed model is to determine the optimal network topology, i.e., connections among the integrated microgrids, to ensure minimum microgrid-specific and system-wide operation cost as well as maximum reliability. The impact of the proposed model on supporting renewable energy integration is further studied. The numerical simulations on a test holonic distribution grid with five integrated microgrids demonstrates the merits and the effectiveness of the proposed model.
