Abstract
Carbon nanotube transmission line is characterized by slow wave velocity which can be considered as an important feature in size reduction of microwave circuits. However, equivalent characteristic impedance and Ohmic contacts of single carbon nanotube are much higher than the usual impedance values that are used in antennas and microwave circuits. This paper introduces the basic theory of parallel single wall carbon nanotubes showing how it can be used to synthesis equivalent transmission line sections of appropriate characteristic impedances and slow wave velocity too. Such transmission line sections can be used to develop reduced size microwave circuits.
