Abstract
Laser welding process variables adopt an extremely important part in deciding the nature of a weld joint. The joint accuracy can be characterized as far as properties, for example, weld bead characteristics, mechanical properties and bending. Consequently, mechanical properties ought to be controlled to acquire great welded joints. In this review, the weld bead geometry, for example, depth of penetration (DP), dot width (BW) and tensile strength (TS) of the laser welded butt joints made of AISI 304L austenitic stainless steel and low carbon mild steel were explored. Full factorial design (FFD) was utilized to do the experimental plan. Genetic Algorithm (GA) was produced to build up the connections between the laser welding input parameters like beam power, travel speed, focal position and the three responses like DP, BW and TS in three distinctive protecting gasses (Argon, Helium and Nitrogen). The set up models were utilized for optimize the process parameters utilizing Genetic Algorithm (GA). Optimum solutions for the three different gasses and their respective responses were gotten.
