Abstract
This paper presents a study on performance analysis of a relay-assisted downlink with resource block pairing and proportional fairness. In LTE-A and beyond relay systems, the end-to-end average capacity can be increased by ordered RB-pairing between backhaul and the access links. We derive an exact analytical expression for evaluating the average logarithmic throughput with resource block (RB) pairing and proportional fairness in access link. Closed form expressions are derived for the cumulative distribution function (CDF), probability density function (PDF) of end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and logarithmic throughput with fixed regenerative-relay gain.
