Abstract
Due to rapid developments and the increasing number of information in the health care sector, it has become necessary for medical libraries to face emerging challenges and to invest the technologies appropriately to provide better services to their beneficiaries. Therefore, the medical services platforms and the medical databases have improved the quality of the offered service. However, there are challenges in accessing the system by different groups of staff members each with different service requirements and expertise. IMS is able to distinguish between users by keeping a user profile in its records, this simplifies the access mechanism of different user groups and provides a secure and simple platform for all users. In this paper will review the problem arose in the existing medical retrieval system then will introduce a new framework for medical information retrieval system which will be validated via simulations on a discrete event simulator for estimating the performance measures such as the delay and throughput under heavy loads.
