Abstract
Conference Title: 2017 Nineteenth International Middle East Power Systems Conference (MEPCON) Conference Start Date: 2017, Dec. 19 Conference End Date: 2017, Dec. 21 Conference Location: Cairo, Egypt In this paper the operation of single phase Laboratory-Scale Microgrid "LS-MG" is effectively assessed and analyzed using practical tests and Modified Particle Swarm Optimization Technique "MPSO". A truthful system is designed to instantly observe and monitor the LS-MG. It is capable to practically measure and record the average wind speed, solar radiation and actual temperature during the test duration. Matlab package is used to represent the LS-MG and MPSO technique is utilized to optimize its operation. Different operation states are applied to both the practical system and the MPSO simulation of the LS-MG. The operation results from both methods as Generation scheduling, Batteries status and the MG voltage are studied and compared.
