Abstract
Conference Title: 2016 2nd International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Signal and Image Processing (ATSIP) Conference Start Date: 2016, March 21 Conference End Date: 2016, March 23 Conference Location: Monastir, Tunisia The Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) exams are known for their long durations. It is then interesting to reduce these durations which is considered, in its self, as a degradation cause of the scintigraphic images quality. In fact, patient's movements during the examination procedure cause the appearance of motion artifacts. On the other hand, the exposure time reduction induces degradation in image quality. Therefore, we propose to use the bandlets to denoise SPECT images, acquired with different exposure durations using a phantom that we designed and manufactured for the purpose, which allowed us to obtain different slices with different exposure times. Compared to Wiener filter, the results provided by the bandlets show that we can denoise the images with high noise level obtained after decreasing exposure time.
