Abstract
Nanosized magnesium hydroxides with flake structure were prepared by precipitation reaction between magnesium chloride hexahydrate and sodium hydroxide or ammonia. Crystal morphology of magnesium hydroxide was characterized by scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction. Heat-resisting property was analyzed by thermal analysis. Mg(OH)(2) structure was proved by X-ray diffraction. Scanning electron microscope magnesium shown that prepared hydroxide was nanosized flake. And thermal analysis has shown that it can absorb heat to delay burning of organic compounds.
