Although loquat (Eriobotrya japonica) grows well in Egypt, it is not widely known. In 2007, the total area of loquat was about 122.08 ha with production of 1273 tonnes. Cultivars grown include 'El Sukary', 'Advance', 'Premiere', and 'Late Victoria'.
