Abstract
This paper is about the study of radio frequency energy harvesting operating at 2.45 GHz by using rectifier and an antenna named as rectenna. Micro-strip inset-fed rectangular patch is fabricated. A simple rectifier circuit designed to convert antenna AC power into DC with Schottky diodes (HSMS-2850) for RF detection. Antenna's design and parameters such as gain, directivity, return loss, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) and input impedance are analyzed in high frequency simulator (HFSS). The antenna geometry; width and length of the patch, inset-feed, inset-distance and gap is calculated using MATLAB software. The rectenna model is simulated using advanced design system (ADS) software and the results were found in good agreement.
