Abstract
Salt analysis is very important due to its high consumption by the population and for its medicinal use. In this research, I used twelve samples of different types of salt (local, imported and rock) collected from different locations. They have been investigated using Solid State Nuclear Track Detectors (CR-39) and Titrimetric method. It is found that the annual effective dose was calculating from corresponding radon concentration range between 10.47-13.69m Sv year-1 with average 11.8775m Sv year-1 which are higher than the recommended value, and it is found that the percentage of purity was 55 % in the rock salt. Given these finding, it appears that salt contamination of groundwater could increase the potential for human exposure to these radioactive.
