Abstract
In this paper, a regional split-window algorithm for the Land Surface Temperature estimation through the thermal infrared channels of AVHRR sensor is obtained, and the influence of the different parameters involved are discussed. In order to simulate radiance data detected by the satellite, the MODTRAN radiance/transmittance model is used for three surfaces whose emissivities are known and multiple angle measurements, with and atmospheric characterization by radiosounding profiles, of air temperature and humidity, from different seasons, corresponding to the Canary Islands zone. The final aim is to obtain a better accuracy in the Land Surface Temperature determination for this zone an extrapolate this results to another areas.
