Abstract
Satisfactory quality of media services is increasingly important for seamless access of health-related media at any time, from any device, through any network. In order to have such seamless access of media through different devices used by the respective doctors and other health care professionals, appropriate media repurposing services need to be used through which a particular media type can be customized to be rendered on different client devices. Now, due to the large number of health care professionals and their increased mobility, the challenge is to obtain a scalable mechanism for selecting and configuring various media services for each of the doctor's devices while considering varying QoS requirements. To this end, this paper presents a QoS-aware service configuration algorithm to select the best configurations for the desired devices. We have implemented a prototype of service configuration framework by incorporating the proposed QoS-aware configuration selection algorithm. We measured scalability of the proposed approach through simulation.
