Abstract
This paper proposes a Secure and Lightweight Hierarchical Cluster-based Routing protocol (SL-HCR) for WSNs. It is designed to ensure both authenticity and confidentiality during the data routing based on an efficient ID-based Authenticated Key agreement scheme. As a result, the number of keys stored by each node is reduced to a single permanent secret-key. The nodes could use this key to generate an authenticated session secret key with any other node during the routing process without involving the BS. Simulation results highlight the efficiency of proposed scheme compared to current works.
