Abstract
Conference Title: 2014 4th International Conference on Wireless Communications, Vehicular Technology, Information Theory and Aerospace & Electronic Systems (VITAE) Conference Start Date: 2014, May 11 Conference End Date: 2014, May 14 Conference Location: Aalborg, Denmark Increasing use of wireless sensor technology develops marvellous opening for developing low cost system for structural monitoring such as bridges. Using wireless sensor networks, a large number of sensors can be deployed for damage detection. In literature we nd many simulation studies to study the parameters for bridge monitoring but very few are deployed in real world scenarios. In this paper a set of commercially available Mica2 motes equipped with accelerometer are deployed on two bridge models in laboratory in order to collect vibration response from bridge and further analysis. The response data collected on intact model is compared with the faulty model to analyze the impact of damages using collected vibrational data. The results show the proper characterization of damage detection.
