Abstract
Conference Title: INTELEC 2015 - 2015 IEEE International Telecommunications Energy Conference Conference Start Date: 2015, Oct. 18 Conference End Date: 2015, Oct. 22 Conference Location: Osaka, Japan This paper proposes a new design and implementation of a single stage three-phase multi-level inverter (MLI). The suggested inverter is modular type and can be generalized by connecting the basic modular cells in series configuration. In addition, it can be operated with symmetrical/asymmetrical Dc-voltage sources. The proposed MLI is successfully modulated using sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM). Furthermore, the performance of the proposed inverter is studied under both open-loop operation and closed-loop operation. Beside the obtained simulation results, a laboratory prototype is manufactured and tested to verify the performance of the suggested topology. Simulation and experimental results are provided to highlight the similarity and consistence of them.
