Zn1-xFex O(x=0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04, 0.1) nanoparticles synthesized by a solution combustion method were characterized by different techniques. The structural characterization by XRD confirmed the phase purity of the samples. The optical characterization of the nanoparticles by FTIR revealed the formation of wurtzite structure. Local environment around Fe atoms has been probed by Fe-57 Mossbauer spectroscopy and measured isomer shifts confirmed the charge state of iron is Fe3+.
