Abstract
Electric Vehicles (EVs) use electricity through storage units (batteries) to drive one or more electric motors for propulsion. EVs can come in many forms from Hybrid, which combines the use of combustion and electricity, to an Electric drive, which uses an electric motor. With the increasing use of EVs the technology is reaching maturity and is aiming to be a viable alternative to conventional vehicles. Sustainability can be more readily achieved with an EV because it differs from conventional vehicles, in that the emissions created are from the source used for electricity generation. This report will discuss the key issues regarding EV and their effects on sustainability. The Three-Pillar model will be used to break down the topic into subcategories to be analysed, giving an unbiased report on the future of electric vehicles and how their implementation has revolutionised the world we live in.
