Abstract

Clinical Neurology Life Sciences & Biomedicine Neurosciences & Neurology Oncology Science & Technology Surgery
Tissue samples from 11 primary brain tumors and of tumor free brain tissue were collected. Besides routine neuropathologic assessment, sections were submitted to infrared (IR) microspcctroscopic analysis with both conventional bench-top equipment and synchrotron light source in an attempt to find compositional differences that could be of value in tumor sub-classification of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).
