Abstract
Recently, conventional aluminum alloys have replaced aluminum matrix composites due to its improved mechanical properties in many engineering applications. In this research hybrid aluminum matrix composite was manufactured for different combinations of Alumina and graphite by using stir casting method. Examination of hardness, compression tests, Impact strength and three point bending test of various manufactured hybrid AMCs revealed that mechanical properties were improved when AA 6063 alloy was reinforced with alumina and graphite particles. Mechanical characterization shows that the presence of 6% of alumina particles in the matrix improved Mechanical properties than other combination of alumina with matrix material.
