Abstract
This study examines the effectiveness of a proposed Virtual Working Environment (VWE) through which faculty members in the scientific departments of the Faculty of Education, Jazan University, can maintain academic cooperative duties. The duties include such as, holding periodic meetings, exchanging and follow-up of daily performance reports, arranging seminars, exchanging academic consultations in the field of course description, developing educational activities, holding virtual workshops, developing joint research projects, student academic guiding, analyzing the evaluation results of academic curricula, and developing academic plans. A questionnaire was designed which included questions about academic communication skills measure and promotion of the culture of quality and applied to the faculty members. The researcher used specialized Internet software (Microsoft Groove 2007) to create a workspace through official networks of the faculty. The results showed the effectiveness of the proposed design of a virtual workspace in the advancement of academic communication skills, and the promotion of the culture of quality among the sample of the study.
