Abstract
Conference Title: 2019 International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCIS) Conference Start Date: 2019, April 3 Conference End Date: 2019, April 4 Conference Location: Sakaka, Saudi Arabia There is a lack of a tested model in the literature that explicitly reflects the influence of developers’ affects when they make decisions in software industry; especially in processes that require close and frequent collaboration and communication such as Agile processes. Therefore, we conducted a quantitative study, in the form of survey research, to investigate the role of affects in Agile processes. A total of 233 responses were used to test the measurement and structural models of affect; and a reliable scale was adopted to measure participants’ affective states. Both measurement and structural models were built and tested against the collected data. The results showed a significant impact of both negative and positive affects on agile decisions.
