Abstract
Since Poland celebrated its recent accession into the European Union (EU), Polish agriculture have been forced to follow the regulations of the Common Agricultural Policy, which significantly forces engineering education upon the requirements made by the European Commission. Therefore, the advisement of managerial and engineering staff has become a very significant issue. The role of the teaching unit has been undertaken by the Chamber of Agriculture, with its task to educate young engineers on the instruments of the Common Agricultural Policy. The education of engineers in Poland should aim at broadening students' knowledge regarding agricultural policy, which, in turn, should be treated equally and in a comprehensive manner regarding the national and regional policies for the development of agricultural regions. Beneficiaries of the policy of agricultural development should be all the inhabitants of rural regions, not only the farmers. It should become obvious to Polish engineers that the Common Agricultural Policy is a democratic one, and that it goes beyond any single social and professional group, ie farmers.
