Abstract
Nowadays, video surveillance systems are in urgent and increasing demand to ensure people, things and places' security. The necessity to control and/or alert in case of abnormal events taking place requires pulling out more useful information from video data. Accordingly, there is motivation to improve scalability and capacity of video surveillance systems. Scalability issues in literature are always related to the processing layer of video surveillance systems. In this paper, we address scalability from the point of view of application layer. We propose a progressive scalable video surveillance architecture depending on the end user's needed application.
