Abstract
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) seeks to improve processes in all fields and sectors using the latest technologies and take care of its citizens. Healthcare sector plays an essential role in the country's growth. This research paper is focused on the children healthcare in KSA, specifically on the vaccination process of children in Saudi Arabia, how it can be improved, and how can avoid the delays and mistakes committed during vaccination. One of the main problems in this sector is using a traditional paper card for tracking the vaccination. This paper suggests using the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in the smart card for replacing the traditional vaccination cards. The RFID technology is made up of two components: a passive RFID tag for storage of children's health information regarding vaccination. The second part is the RFID reader to read and interpret the data from the RFID tag. The research presented questionnaires to 167 people, 87% of them favor to use this technology. According to some advantageous as it made the vaccination process easier, faster, and it reduced errors, and the major reasons are an avoidance of loss of information and increase in the information availability at any time.
