The title compound, C28H40N2O2 center dot 0.5CH(3)OH, crystallizes with two molecules of 1-{2-[( 2- hydroxy- 1- naphthyl) methyleneamino] phenyliminiomethyl}-2-naphtholate and one methanol solvent molecule in the asymmetric unit. All bond lengths and angles are normal. The crystal structure is stabilized by pi - pi, O - H center dot center dot center dot O and C - H center dot center dot center dot pi interactions.
