In the title compound, C16H13ClN2S, the dihedral angle between the 4-chlorobenzaldehyde moiety and the heterocyclic five-membered ring is 7.21 (17)degrees. In the crystal, molecules are linked by weak C-H center dot center dot center dot pi interactions, generating [100] chains.
