In the title compound, C12H14N2O, the imidazole ring forms a dihedral angle of 66.73 (5)degrees with the phenyl ring. In the crystal, molecules are linked via O-H center dot center dot center dot N and C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds into sheets lying parallel to (100). The crystal structure is further consolidated by C-H center dot center dot center dot pi interactions.
