The title compound, C(8)H(10)N(2)O(2), crystallizes with two independent molecules in an asymmetric unit. The structure is stabilized by nine intermolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot N, N-H center dot center dot center dot O and C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds.
