Abstract

4,13-α-epoxymuzigadial antifeedant antimicrobial Canella winterana Canellaceae muzigadial (canellal) NOESY sesquiterpene
The leaves of Canella winterana yielded a new compound that was found to be 4,13-α-epoxymuzigadial. Epoxidation of muzigadial gave two epimers, one of which was identical with the isolated material. Stereochemical differentiation between the two epimers was mainly based on a comparison of their NOESY spectra.
