Abstract

When a rough surface is irradiated by a laser beam and the reflected or transmitted light is observed, a diffraction pattern called the speckle pattern is seen at the observation plane. A study is reported in which the static states of woven-fabric surfaces were obtained as autocorrelation functions from these speckle patterns.
