The title compound, C22H20N2O4, is a Schiff base ligand. The dihedral angles between the central and two outer benzene rings are 2.20 (12) and 58.29 (12)degrees. Two O - H...N intramolecular hydrogen bonds involving the two hydroxy groups generate S( 6) ring motifs. In the crystal structure, molecules are stacked approximately along the a axis and are linked by weak intermolecular C - H...O interactions. The crystal structure is stabilized by intramolecular O - H...N hydrogen bonds, weak C - H...O intermolecular interactions and C - H...pi interactions.
